How about a Friday fore-edge painting? This lovely work is on the edge of an early 19th century copy of the New Testament, and appropriately, it features Lincoln Cathedral. When the book is closed, there’s no hint of the painting hidden beneath the gilded edge!

5 SECONDS OF SUMMER • TUMBLR IRL • BROOKLYN, NY • 6/26/18

Last night in Brooklyn, we helped 300 lucky fans celebrated one of the biggest bands on Tumblr—the amazing 5 Seconds of Summer (@5sos).

There were fans were patiently lined up outside the venue as early as 6 a.m. the day before. It’s easy to be that dedicated when your faves are celebrating their third No. 1 Billboard album.

Like all IRLs, this wasn’t just a regular ol’ concert. This was a one-time only visual experience. Artist Signe Pierce (@signepierce) brought their latest album, Youngblood, to life through radiant light direction, artistic projections, and a holographic photo installation. Every single audience member was given a single rose to keep or toss on stage as they saw fit.

If you didn’t get to make it to the IRL, don’t fret. We’ll be doing a special video Answer Time with the band tomorrow at 3 p.m. EST / 12 p.m. PST on their Tumblr, so be on the look out for that.

Tandy didn’t get the cloak ability obviously because she’s a runner, she didn’t need any help. Also in a way her white privilege is her cloak. She can move easier in the world, no cloak needed. BUT her being a woman is also kind of an invisibility. How men don’t really see her on a fair level. How rich guy sees her as less so he corners her in that ally.
Tyrone damn sure didn’t need the dagger ability. He’s got all that “poisin” in him just waiting to unleash on the cop. Him being a black male translates so negatively to ignorant people, they probably believe he’s got a weapon on him always. To society, his skin color IS the weapon.
Tandy’s white privilege works until her being a woman in today’s world kicks in. Her dagger helps her take back the control men think they are entitled to have over her.
Tyrone’s male privilege is cool until his blackness overrides it. The world labels him a thug. His cloak allows him to get justice for his brother in a way America doesn’t expect: rationally and without violence.

He’s the actual leader of the Avengers, right? So why shouldn’t he be the one who has to look into their eyes and justify the loss of their child?

I feel very annoyed because of Steve’s actions in MCU CACW, but even I understand that Steve can not be accused of the death of a child that happened because of Ultron, because he has nothing to do with it.

I understand where you’re coming from, and I don’t think Steve should be blamed per se, but I think OP was trying to say, ‘for once I wish someone blamed somebody other then Tony for all of this bullshit that keeps happening, because that seems to be a running theme: shit goes wrong, blame Tony’. Like logically the only person who should be to blame is Ultron and the mind stone and probably Loki, but why isn’t Steve shouldering some of this blame because he was supposed to be the ‘leader’ of the Avengers, but instead people are seeking out Tony to blame because he is A) the most public figure and B) he has a shit ton of money which seems to draw people to him; which righteously sucks.

So all in all, why didn’t Steve get the angry mom with the picture of her dead son since he’s the leader of this group of people whom she blames for the death of her child, instead of just Tony who gets the blame for everything all the damn time?

Of course I could be wrong about their OP, but that’s what I got out of it.

Yeah I didn’t say Tony was a blameless little lamb on anything, did I? I just said I’d like Steve get confronted once and awhile by grieving relatives of the people killed from the unilateral actions the Avengers have taken (and if Steve gets his way, will keep taking without being held accountable by anyone).

That’s the thing about being the leader – the buck stops with you. If the Hulk rampages and destroys part of Johannesburg, if Wanda blinks and blows up half a hotel by accident, and yes, if Ultron goes rogue - then yes, Steve IS the guy who should take the flak. HE’S THE COMMANDER. Instead, in every single movie, it’s Tony who bears the brunt of world and press and personal opinion, with Steve sort of hanging back and fading into the background.

Wanda’s presence in Lagos and her mistake – an inadequately trained operative WITHOUT A PASSPORT on a secret mission that was being carried out without the knowledge of the country it was happening in – that was, or should have been, on STEVE. And he by rights should have been the one giving carefully prepared statements to the media and explaining what happened.

But instead it was Tony who took all the grief for it – Tony who had STEPPED AWAY from the Avengers, Tony who steps BACK IN to take the glare of the media spotlight and the fury of grieving parents and all that off Steve’s back.

And – no one ever bats an eye or even says thank you for that…

I feel like nothing any character in the MCU did or has ever done matters anymore because Tony created Ultron. EVERYTHING always comes back to that…

“Well, Steve could have considered the Accords a little more..”

“Yea, but Tony created Ultron though”

“Well, Wanda did act irresponsibly in these instances..”

“Yea, but Tony created Ultron..so..”

“OK, well Bruce kinda helped and Wanda did too”

“Yea, but it was Tony’s tech or whatever”

“Alright well, anyway it’s nice day today..”

“Yea, OK, but Tony created Ultron”

WE GET IT. That doesn’t erase other characters mistakes and flaws. Tony is not the scapegoat that has to take on everyone else’s sins. The MCU existed before and continued to exist after Ultron. Ultron wasn’t the end all, be all of the MCU. People act like nothing else about the Avengers matters because of Ultron, jeez. It was a major plot point but there are still lots of other factors to consider when you think about the ways things play out in the MCU. ALL of them have made mistakes and the Avengers as a team have too. It makes sense that, despite Tony being the most visible member, the others would elicit certain reactions from the public too. I can’t believe everyone universally loves them and only has a problem now because of Tony/Ultron. It’s just not realistic.

Thank you to the latest contributions to this discussion. I am glad that some people get it too, and think it’s ridiculous that Tony shoulders every ounce of blame in the MCU for bad things.
I have to say I am waiting for him to be blamed for Thanos, even though he spent YEARS after Loki’s invasion trying to tell everyone that something worse was coming. Ultron was the result of this fear… well that and Wanda using Tony’s fears against him and the Mind Stone enchancing those fears too!
